Our team has now grown to more than 150 members worldwide, including full-time employees, contractors, and colleagues working in our global offices. As our business grows and cross-functional projects become more common, staying connected across teams is more important than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To help build stronger connections beyond our everyday work, we launched our official Employee Club Initiative in 2024! The idea is simple: colleagues that share a hobby or interest can form a club. And the best part\u2014clubs that meet a few basic guidelines can receive financial support from the company to help bring their activities to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since this initiative began, a number of clubs have already been formed, bringing people together to connect, get creative, and have some fun along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog post, we\u2019re excited to give you a peek into some of the clubs\u2014plus a few fun snapshots to go with them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfb3 Bowling Club<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bowling Club was the very first group to launch under this new initiative. Open to everyone, regardless of age, background, or experience\u2014it offers a relaxed way to enjoy a game together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some members have even shown impressive skills, scoring strike after strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a recent tour of our new R&D facility (featured in a previous blog post<\/a>), the club organized a casual bowling tournament that brought together willing participants from across the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u26fa Camping Club<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed by a group of outdoor enthusiasts, the Camping Club recently set off on a weekend adventure to a scenic campsite just outside Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With nature all around, good food on the grill, and plenty of great conversation, it was the perfect chance to relax, recharge, and connect outside of the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u26bd Futsal Club<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Futsal Club brings together football and futsal fans from across the company. Thanks to a futsal court close to our Tokyo office, the club regularly hosts friendly matches\u2014sometimes even inviting players from outside the company to join in on the fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In March, the team took things up a notch by joining the Decacorn Cup, hosted by none other than former soccer star Keisuke Honda\u2014and even had the rare chance to face off against his team on the pitch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfee Mikoshi <\/em>(Portable Shrine) Club<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mikoshi Club joins traditional festivals across Tokyo, carrying portable shrines through the streets and connecting with the local community along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a one-of-a-kind experience that brings teammates together while celebrating and sharing the richness of Japanese culture within the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though our Club Initiative is still in its early stages, it\u2019s already helping to strengthen connections across teams and departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many participants have shared positive feedback, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThanks to the clubs, I\u2019ve gotten to know colleagues from other departments and gained a better understanding of what they do.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s made communication smoother, and I feel like we collaborate more effectively now.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These kinds of comments show how even casual, non-work interactions can make a real difference\u2014leading to stronger teamwork and smoother communication in our everyday work. Teamwork is at the heart of our mission to make fusion energy a reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
