Our Research and Development work took a major leap forward in January with the opening of our new R&D hub in Heiwajima, Tokyo, located within the “Tokyo Ryutsu Center.”

Alongside this expansion, we moved our global headquarters to this new site.

Check out our official news release for more information!

In this post, we’ll walk you through our new office space, highlighting the concept behind its design.

Our R&D activities and main office are now housed together in the new headquarters.

A Thoughtfully Designed Office Area

“Flexibility & Sustainability” are the two key concepts central to our new office design.

The overall layout can be easily and flexibly reconfigured as needed.

We have incorporated refurbished office furniture and selected sustainable and environmentally friendly flooring and wall materials.

1. Spaciously Designed with the Future in Mind

We’ve ensured ample space in our work areas so that new members have their own space as our team grows.

To support a hybrid work environment, we’ve also equipped the office with multiple meeting rooms and individual work booths, making it easy to balance in-person and remote collaboration.

2. Designed for Comfort and Productivity

In the center of our workspace, we’ve placed casual bench-style seating—perfect for quick discussions and informal team interactions.

Many of our team members even have lunch here, fostering a collaborative and friendly vibe.

For those doing deep work, we’ve designated quiet spaces, complete with standing desks and dual monitors.

With these multiple set-ups, members can work productively in a way that fits their working style.

3. A Touch of Japan in Our Meeting Rooms

Our meeting rooms incorporate design elements inspired by Kyoto’s four seasons—a tribute to Japanese aesthetics and to the company’s roots.

Facility Tour for Employees

We hosted a special office tour for our employees before officially relocating.

Everyone could check out progress made on the overall construction and hear more about our fusion fuel cycle system and ongoing research from our engineering team. It was a great opportunity to learn about our development milestones and future plans.

(Be sure to check out our recent interview with Suneui (Soni) — featured in the bottom right photo — from our Tritium Technologies team.)

With our members now working together in one site, we are more committed than ever to deliver on the early promise of fusion energy!

Stay tuned for more updates on our technological advancements and company initiatives through our blog and social media channels.

We look forward to sharing our journey with you!
