THE FUSION ERA: Participation in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026

HOME > NEWS > THE FUSION ERA: Participation in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026

From April 27 to 29, we participated in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 (SusHi Tech) at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center, where we featured multiple exhibition booths and took the stage for a pitch presentation.

The event was incredibly vibrant and energetic, attracting over 60,000 attendees, according to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s official post-event report.

At our booth, we had the opportunity to connect with a remarkable number of visitors and introduce our work to a wide audience, from industry partners to university students.

In this blog, we’ll share highlights from SusHi Tech—along with photos from the event—to give you a sense of the excitement on the ground and a closer look at what we showcased.

About SusHi Tech Tokyo

SusHi Tech Tokyo is one of Asia’s largest global innovation conferences. Hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the event focuses on envisioning a sustainable urban future. The name “SusHi Tech” stands for Sustainable High City Tech, reflecting its mission to bring together cutting-edge innovation for a more sustainable society.

The event draws not only Japanese companies, but also startups, investors, and academic institutions from around the world, all converging in Tokyo to share ideas and technologies shaping the future.

This marked our second time participating in the conference. We first participated in 2023, when the event was still known as City-Tech.Tokyo

This year, we hosted two booths:

  • The “Focus On” Resilience Area, which gathered companies working in specific fields
  • “SusHi Tech Global,” dedicated to startups with global ambitions

KF members from across divisions—including engineering, business, and corporate —came together to run the booth.

Our booth was buzzing with visitors throughout the event.

SusHi Tech Tokyo: Imagining a Fusion-Powered Future

At the “Focus On” booth, we showcased our involvement in the FAST Project, where we contribute as an industrial partner.

The FAST Project, led by Starlight Engine is an industry-academia collaboration aiming to demonstrate fusion energy power generation in the 2030s using a tokamak approach.

At our booth, we also featured a large-scale model depicting a city centered around a future fusion energy plant enabled by FAST.

This model—measuring about one meter in diameter—captured the imagination of many visitors. Passersby stopped to take a closer look, with many snapping photos and recording videos to remember the display.

We are also delighted to see some people feature our booth and company in various blog posts and YouTube videos covering the event.

SusHi Tech Global: Showcasing Our Global Activities

Our participation in SusHi Tech Global came after being selected for the SusHi Tech Global Growth Acceleration Program (1st phase), part of Tokyo’s Global Innovation Strategy 2.0 (Startup & Scaleup) initiative.

On the opening day, Yuriko KoikeGovernor of Tokyo visited our booth and shared encouraging remarks that reflected the strong expectations surrounding fusion energy.

Later that day, CEO Satoshi Konishi took the stage for a three-minute pitch, passionately presenting our efforts toward making fusion energy a reality.

Before his pitch began,  the team could hear voices of anticipation from the audience—an exciting moment that underscored the growing interest in both fusion energy and our work.

Looking Ahead

Over the course of the three days, our interactions with numerous visitors made it clear: interest and support for fusion energy are growing stronger than ever.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for providing this valuable opportunity, to the event organizers for their outstanding preparation, as well as to everyone who stopped by our booth.

We will continue sharing our journey toward realizing fusion energy through exhibitions and events around the world. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
