Technology 01
Magnetic confinement fusion needs external heating to reach fusion temperatures and hold the plasma stable. Delivering it takes high power integrated heating systems. We develop and deliver these systems — gyrotrons and more — to fusion programs around the world.
Technology 02
Every fusion concept burning deuterium and tritium needs a fuel cycle. Only a small fraction of the fuel injected into a device is burned; the rest must be pumped out, cleaned, separated, stored, and returned to the reaction continuously and efficiently — with almost nothing lost. We develop and deliver the systems that close that loop.
Technology 03
Whatever confines the plasma, every fusion power plant must capture its energy as heat and breed its own tritium. The breeding blanket does both; the thermal cycle carries that heat to power generation. Both demand materials that survive high-energy neutrons and extreme temperatures. We develop and deliver the blanket, heat utilization, and plant design as one.
UNITY™ Program
UNITY™ (Unique Integrated Testing Facility) is a program of integrated demonstration facilities led by Kyoto Fusioneering. To realize commercial fusion power plants, UNITY™ integrates key systems and validates their performance under conditions representative of those in a power plant. As a demonstration platform supporting the deployment of next-generation energy technologies, UNITY™ accelerates the practical realization of fusion energy.
Beyond Electricity
Fusion produces heat before it produces electricity — and high-temperature heat is what much of heavy industry actually runs on. That opens applications well beyond the grid: hydrogen production, synthetic fuels, carbon capture and sequestration, and process heat for industry itself.
