Kyoto Fusioneering (KF) celebrated its 6th anniversary on 1 October by marking the occasion with our company-wide event, the KF Annual Townhall.
The Townhall, held on 10 October, brought together team members from our offices in Japan to reflect on the past year, share our strategic direction, and collaborate on shaping the future of fusion energy.
True to its name, a “townhall” is designed as a space for open dialogue between leadership and team members. At KF, this event serves as a vital opportunity to reaffirm our mission, align on our vision, and strengthen our sense of shared purpose.
The Townhall was KF’s third company-wide event, following last year’s Culture Day, where team members came together to discuss the values and culture we aspire to uphold. Through those discussions, we updated our original Credos, refining the principles that guide how we work and collaborate every day.

Morning Session: Reflecting on Our Journey
The day began with opening remarks from President Kiyoshi Seko, setting an inspiring tone for the event. CEO Satoshi Konishi then took the stage alongside department leads, presenting the key milestones that have defined the past year. We were also joined by representatives from our global offices in the UK, US, and Germany, who shared updates and success stories from their respective regions.
Their insights highlighted how our teams around the world are working toward a shared vision and how each milestone contributes to KF’s growing global momentum in fusion innovation.
Lunch: Celebrating Together, Strengthening Collaboration
During lunch, everyone gathered to enjoy a buffet-style meal at the venue. To mark KF’s 6th anniversary, a special cake featuring the KF logo was brought out and shared by the team members whose birthdays fall in October, adding a personal and festive touch to the celebration.
Afternoon Session: Strategy and Collaboration
In the afternoon, the leadership team shared KF’s mid-term business strategy toward 2035, outlining the company’s long-term vision and priorities for the years ahead.
Following the presentation, participants took part in interactive group work, reflecting on how each individual can contribute to the overall strategy from their own role and perspective. The session began with a period of individual reflection, allowing members to internalise the strategy and connect it to their day-to-day work.
Next came group discussions, where team members shared the challenges they face and how they can overcome them to achieve KF’s shared goals. Each group summarized their thoughts on paper and presented them to the entire team.
This open exchange provided valuable insights into ongoing projects and the behind-the-scenes efforts taking place across departments, fostering a stronger sense of alignment, understanding and unity as one KF team.
Closing: Shared Vision, Global Impact
The event concluded with reflections from select team members and closing remarks from leadership, followed by a group photo to commemorate the day.
This Townhall served as a valuable opportunity for each team member to connect the company’s overall strategy within their individual roles and reflect on how they can contribute to KF’s shared goals.
Even within the same department, members who usually work in different locations were able to meet face-to-face, exchange ideas and discuss their challenges and objectives. These conversations deepened mutual understanding and strengthened the sense of unity across teams.
Representatives from our offices outside of Japan also plan to bring back the insights gained at the Townhall to share with their respective teams. This approach ensures that KF can maintain a unified direction as a company, while respecting the unique strengths and cultures of each region—enabling true global collaboration.
